At Home Grown Pigs, we rear Traditional British Rare Breeds for pork and breeding. Our pigs are loved and cared for from day one. They are given space to play, dig and be naughty and fresh straw bedding in their sheds or pig arks.

We give them attention daily, by playing with them and giving them a brush! They have a muddy wallow to lay in when its hot, and a warm shelter when its cold or wet.

They are such fun to be around and a real joy. 

The pork is succulent and mouth watering, with crackling to die for. The only problem we have is it doesn't last long enough! Once you have experienced Home Grown Pork, you really wouldn't want to try anything else. If you want to try it please email or phone.

We have now found a Wiltshire Smoke House and produce our own Bacon and Hams which again is so good there is never enough.

We now have a Middle White for breeding, her name is "Miranda". Middle Whites are amongst the rarest of our traditional breeds, good for both pork and bacon. Miranda is very vocal, making the silliest of noises!

We also have a British Lop gilt 'Bella' who is also amongst the rarest breeds in the UK, there are only 200 breeding sows. We hope to keep them going with our breeding programme. Our "lulu" has enormous ears an important feature for a British Lop!

This year we have invested in more rare breeds, our collection now also includes a Gloucester Old Spot called 'Lexi', two Large Black sows 'Sophie' & 'Bess' and an oxford sandy and black called 'Gretal'. We are also keeping "Brin" a mangalitza x middle white for sausage babies!

We also have a registered Large Black boar for hire 'Ash' from the Majestic line.
